Skippin’ Study Hall

Crossroad’s Relay for Life Team is cooking breakfast and lunch Saturday for the fourth annual Bike Blessing at Crossroads Church. Last year a good friend of mine Dean, made the team this big boofin’ gas grill. You can cook a hole cow on this big bad boy! It’s  a 5′ x 3′ propane burning, vittles cookin’ machine!

I needed some help loading this portable McDonald’s into my pickup, so my son kyle, his boss Pete and one of our church’s highly technical tecs Travis, drove out to where we store the artery clogger to get it. What a trip.

Seconds after leaving the driveway of Pete’s house, It was if we were all in high school together and we were skipping class; cutting out of Chemistry for a joy ride in the middle of the afternoon. Pete started messing with Travis wanting him to sing a song that came on the radio. Then, everyone is messing with poor Travis. (I think you have a great voice Travis).

Next, It was my turn. Kyle had something to say about my driving and doing burnouts. Hey, it’s a truck, no weight in the back, the tires spin a little….when you stomp on the gas.

Then there was Pete. Pete is the master!!! He had some good burns. Most were for Travis though which is cool, cause they weren’t aimed at me.

Sometimes I think you have to skip out on life, to enjoy a little life. Thanks for a fun afternoon dudes!!!!

  1. You should come over to Pete’s house then on Friday afternoons. We “Skip out on life” all afternoon! :)

  2. I’t strange. When I’m old I’ll probably talk about the afternoon referenced here. It was a lot of fun in a half hour!
